2017 will be the ninth Jinney Ring Blues Festival, and we’ve had some cracking bands on over the years!
In 2016, opening the festival was one man band Andy Twyman who plays drums, guitar, and harmonica simultaneously, as well as singing. He was followed by London duo Ma Polaine’s Great Decline. A highlight on the line up was four-piece band Rainbreakers whose impassioned live performances have gained critical acclaim in the national press. Laura Holland Band brought a slick, dynamic and highly entertaining show to the stage, with original compositions mixed with songs from blues and soul legends of the 50s and 60s. The headline act was Northsyde. This talented group had a clean sweep of finalist nominations at this year’s British Blues Awards, for Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, Vocalist and Band of the Year. Also on stage was the magnificent 18 piece Simon Kemp Rhythm & Blues Orchestra who were the final act of the night with their energetic audience embracing show.
In 2015 our headliners were The Official Receivers! Throughout the day we also enjoyed David Migden & The Twisted Roots, Steve Ajao and his Blues Giants, Slowburner, the Jackhammer Blues Band, and Steve Morrison.
In 2014 we had a fantastic time with The Franck Ash Band, Fabulous Boogie Boys feat. Sarah Warren, The Brothers Groove, Mumbo-Jumbo, Jack Blackman and Retrovibe.
2013 was great fun with The Dr Teeth Big Band, Stomp & Holler, Robert Hokum and The Devil Drives, The Sarah Warren Band, Dave Onions and Boperator.
